Israeli Airstrike Kills 45 in Gaza Tent Camp

Dozens of civilians, including children, killed in deadly attack

Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns strike as "massacre"

Ramallah, West Bank - An Israeli airstrike on a makeshift tent camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah, Gaza, killed at least 45 people on Sunday night, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs based in the West Bank.

The strike triggered a fire that engulfed the camp, trapping and killing dozens of civilians. The Palestinian Civil Defense spokesman in Rafah, Muhammad Al-, described the incident as a "massacre," saying it was the largest loss of life in the city in months.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing flames and smoke billowing from the area. Rescue workers struggled to reach the victims due to the intensity of the fire and the ongoing Israeli airstrikes.

Egypt condemned the strike as a "violation of international law" and called for an immediate ceasefire. The United Nations has expressed "deep concern" over the escalating violence in Gaza.

The airstrike is part of an ongoing Israeli military operation in Gaza that has claimed the lives of hundreds of Palestinians and destroyed homes and infrastructure. The operation, launched in response to rocket attacks from Hamas, has drawn international condemnation and calls for an end to the violence.
